Mgr. Markéta Zatloukalová
Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(2):8-12 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0243204
The number of patients diagnosed with aphasia after stroke or traumatic brain injury is constantly increasing. However, it appears that for many persons intensive outpatient speech therapy is unavailable for various reasons. Telerehabilitation could offer a possible solution of this dismal situation. Abroad, this form of rehabilitation is a relatively common alternative to traditional face-to-face therapy, while in the Czech Republic we just get acquainted with this term. The article offers an overview of current possibilities of synchronous and asynchronous telerehabilitation systems that can be applied in aphasia.

PhDr. Lenka Dzidová
Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(2):13-33 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0252200
Currently, there is no suitable test battery to accept severe motor speech disorders and related dysphagia disorders and low cognitive levels. The aim of the research was to create and use a new diagnostic tool - Orofacial profile to examine the orofacial area in adult individuals with motor speech disorder who have imitation problems due to severe motor disorder and associated problems of dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia and others. This test was used in a research group of 24 adult probands aged 17-67 years with dg. motor speech disorders regardless of coexisting craniotrauma-based disorders who do not benefit from visual, acoustic and verbal keys during...
Respiratory physiotherapy techniques used in patients with neurological disease
Mgr. Daniela Botiková
Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(2):34-40 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0261938
Breathing and its disorders are in the centre of interest of many medical and healthcare specialists. Paresis or loss of strength of skeletal muscles may often be observed in patients with neurological disease. However, muscles of respiration are also skeletal muscles and loss of their strength may cause restrictive pattern of ventilation disorder along with many other complications. Multidisciplinary approach and awareness of physical rehabilitation of respiratory functions thus may help with management of acute or chronic breathing disorders in patients with neurological disease.

Mgr. Jakub Pětioký, MBA, DiS., prof. MUDr. Marcela Grünerová-Lippertová Ph.D., PhDr. Kristýna Hoidekrová, Mgr. Markéta Zatloukalová
Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(2):41-44 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0271651
Specialized complex neurorehabilitation care is important part of the complex neurology care for survivors with acquired brain injury. In addition to physiotherapy and occupational therapy, it is necessary to provide a speech pathology and dysphagia care and as well psychological care. The Rehabilitation Centre Kladruby (RÚ) started a pilot complex neurorehabilitation program - Kranioprogram in 2015, with a guarantee of availability of speech and psychological care, based on the indicative criteria. A secondary dysphagia screening (n = 124) has also been introduced to help identify risk in patients with silent aspiration (n = 27) based on the experience...
Craniocerebral injury - casuistry
PaedDr. Adelaida Fábianová
Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(2):45-48 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0281740
Statistics of rescued people after head-brain injuries are constantly increasing and therefore we are forced to seek effective therapeutic procedures. Up to 90 % of people after a brain injuries will cure physically within one year, although severe mobility and speech disorders or other associated disease, such as epilepsy, persist. In the described case we focus on a young patient whose chances of survival were minimal and whose brain damage caused changes not only in the areas of motor, cognitive and swallowing but also changes in his perception of touch, smell, taste, sight and change in thermoregulation.

Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(2):59-65 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0352082
Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), or concussion, is among the most common neurological disorders. One goal of this review is to introduce an update on early management in mTBI that deals with the identification of patients at increased risk of clinically significant lesions requiring neurosurgical intervention or observation in hospital. Another aim is to present the revision of our view about mTBI as fully reversible insult.

Bilateral congenital hearing impairment is a serious lifelong handicap for the disabled child, especially due to the limited reception of information, distorted speech development, different way of communication, and limitation in social relations including career advancements and income expectations. The consequences of hearing impairment can be reduced by diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation procedures, which involve early diagnosis of hearing, active support of auditory perception by hearing aids and, if indicated, cochlear implantation. Because of the most recent changes in the methodology of screening for hearing impairment and the advance...
