PHONOLOGICAL DISORDERS AND DIAGNOSTICS IN SLOVAK CONDITIONS

Dana Buntová, PhDr., PhD., Kristína Mocsári, Mgr.

Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(1):3-7 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0028606

Phonological disorders have a high percentage of Speech Sound Disorders. They often occur with DLD, developmental dysphasia. They are a predictor of learning disabilities. Early screening of phonological disorders based on speech intelligibility, identification of physiological, developmentally younger, and pathological phonological processes allows diagnosis and use of appropriate therapy.

doc. Svetlana Kapalková, PhD.

Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(1):8-12 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0035700

The assessment of early childhood children at risk or children with developmental language disorder in young pre-school age may be carried out in several ways. In the study, we will introduce one of them, namely the sociolinguistic approach represented by the model of Margaret Lahey. The low-structured model is suitable for describing the strengths and weaknesses of the child at an early age, even if the child is still not verbal. The model is time consuming, but very precise and realistically complex. His great advantages include, in particular, the logical formulation of therapy objectives of language competence in the proximity child's development...

Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(1):18-24 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0054671

Developmental dysphasia is one of the most common diagnoses encountered by clinical speech therapists. It is a diagnosis that brings with it a number of potential problems that the speech therapist has to solve. Dysphasia is not only about poor speech intelligibility, but also affects many other areas - vocabulary, morphology and syntax or language comprehension. One area that is less pronounced in relation to developmental dysphasia is the transmission of problems to written language - the high risk of reading and writing difficulties, which is much higher for children with developmental dysphasia than for intact children. The aim of this article...

Mgr. Kateřina Láfová

Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(1):25-28 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0063473

The distinction specific language impairments (SLI) and autism at an early stage of life appears to be important in establishing an indicative prognosis for the further development of communication skills and social interactions for parents and developing a therapeutic and supportive plan for working with the child.Due to the limited cooperation of very young children, a battery of interaction games has been designed to be performed during the speech therapy session to distinguish between specific language impairments and autistic interaction difficulties. The evaluation of the child's interactions and reactions was based on observations of the...

Mgr. et Mgr. Barbora Richtrová

The contribution introduces into the self-image (Self) development in children with specific language impairment. A brief survey of the developmental theories and attachment theory is also provided in order to understand better the emotional experience and contact modification in the Self development in children that are limited by aberrant neurobiological maturing. If one aims at maximizing an effect of clinical speech therapy, it is natural to perceive and reflect a child as a holistic personality with its own experience, needs etc. and belongs to a given family system. Such approach supports interpersonal relationship, feeling of safety and self-awareness....

The article tries to bring a brief insight developmental dysphasia. Issue is very extensive and it is not possible to comprehend its width fully in this article. The main aim is to show the possibilities of diagnosis and differential diagnoses, the use of some developmental scales end tests applicable to clinical speech therapist. It is especially the use of scales and tests battery which enables us to follow better development of disorders in time and helps us to aim the therapy more precisely. Doc. MUDr. Olga Dlouhá, CSc.

Listy klinické logopedie 2019, 3(1):45-47 | DOI: 10.36833/lkl.2019.0102541

The aims of our study: to analyse the role of auditory perception in children suffering from developmental dysphasia (DD) using speech dichotic central tests. Dichotic listening is a technique of simultaneously presentation of different stimuli in both ears. We developed special dichotic tests in Czech language. We have focused on comparison of dichotic listening in pre-school children with DD and in older DD children with dysortographia with normal developed children. Several types tests were used, from two-syllable words or from short sentences. Results of the dichotic tests in children with DD and dysortographia confirmed integration problems in...

This review article presents findings on developmental dysphasia at the end of the second decade of the 21st century. The author shares her knowledge with the reader thanks to the preparation of doctoral thesis called Developmental dysphasia in the concept of neurodevelopmental disorders. This work explains the serious consequences of the disorder, explains the current concept of terminology (including the misleading error of the Czech translation), etiopathogenesis, symptomatology, comorbidities, diagnostics, and in part the related intervention strategies. Most of the article is based on recent conclusions from a major international forum.
