Basic information, Aims & Scope

This journal is published by the Association of Speech-Language Pathologists of the Czech Republic.

It is published electronically twice a year – June 14 and December 14 and it is free for all readers.

The journal is intended for clinical speech therapists, students, experts in related disciplines and wider public as well. The aim is to provide speech and language pathologists with information on new research in their field and also in the related fields. The aim is also to provide specialists from related disciplines with new knowledge in our field, to connect and find new ways of interdisciplinary collaboration.
The journal enables to publish everyone who meets the criteria for the articles publication (see Information for authors) and follows the Ethical codes. The LKL journal does not charge any fees for publishing an article, it is fully open access and its archive is freely accessible.

Each issue focuses on specific area of speech-language pathology (speech disorders, language disorders, hearing impairment, feeding and swallowing disorders, voice disorders atc.). Therefore, we preferably accept into individual issues the articles that deal with the main topic. However, we always accept a certain number of articles outside the main topic, which we publish in the Varia section of the journal.

The "main topic" if the planned issue, the call for contributions and the deadline are published half a year in advance on the home page of the journal website.

For antiplag. check of Czech articles we use Odevzdej.cz system. For check of texts in English we use the Viper Plagiarism checker.

The articles accepted for the publication must meet clear criteria and must undergo so-called double-blind review process (see Review rules).

The reviewers are both Editorial Board members (according to their professional orientation) and external reviewers. By accepting a request for a review, the reviewer agrees to respect the Code of Ethics for Reviewers. The list of external reviewers is continuously updated.

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the content of the journal, the journal is created by the Editorial staff, the professional level is supervised by the Editorial Board. If the author does not agree with the decision of the editor and the editor-in-chief, he/she may apply to the editorial board for an assessment of his/her matter.

For more information see Editorial rules.
